Kickstart your child’s coding journey with our exciting 6-week Scratch course! Guided by our multi-award-winning tutor, children will learn to code step by step while creating their very first animation and two interactive games.
Each week, a new child-friendly, age-appropriate video lesson (30–45 minutes) unlocks, making coding easy, fun, and engaging. Kids will explore how to control characters (sprites), use keyboard inputs, add sounds, create health systems, and power up their games with super-cool effects.
In the final week, they’ll take on the Ultimate Challenge, applying everything they’ve learned to design their very own Scratch game!
By the end, your child will proudly have four Scratch projects – an animation, two guided games, and their own custom creation, while building confidence, problem-solving skills, and creativity.
Perfect for beginners or young coders who want a refresher, this course makes learning to code as fun as playing a game!
You will need access to the following technology to participate in this online coding courses:
- A Computer, Tablet or Smartphone to watch the course video’s on.
- A Laptop or Desktop computer to do their own coding. This course doesn't suit the use of a Tablet, due to the nature of the games being created.
- Headphones are recommended, as this course contains video lessons with audio.
- Internet Connection – you will need an internet connection so you child can watch the video lessons and code along in Scratch online.
- You will need to create an account on the Scratch website with a parent/guardians supervision, so you can safely code and save your mini games. Go to www.scratch.mit.edu/register to create an account, it only takes a few minutes.
