Empower you class with digital skill for the future with our online schools programme, suitable for classroom learning. Â
We have built a Stem-focused online coding platform for schools. Our lessons are available on-demand, offering you the flexibility to fit them around your own class schedule. Our step-by-step video lessons are designed for you class to watch, pause and code themselves. Â
We can deliver our courses remotely using our pre-recorded video lessons designed especially for the classroom environment. Get the kids setup with laptops or chromebooks, start the video lesson, pause at the pause-points, and the kids can code along with us. It’s that easy!
Teacher Training Modules
We provide a set of Teacher Training modules so your teachers are well equipped to support their class on their coding journey with The Code Lab.
- Teachers learn how to use The Code Lab Online Learning Platform in the Classroom.
- They learn the basics of computer science and coding using step-by-step video lessons.
- They learn the basics of the particular coding language they are covering in the lessons, so they can help with any questions the class may have.
- They learn how to answer the types of questions that may come up, and tips and tricks on how to navigate their chosen coding language.

We can help you celebrate Tech Week, Engineers Week, EUCodeWeek or Science Week at your school, either Online or In-Person.
Organise an online coding lesson for some of your classes using our Schools Coding Programme, with on-demand video lessons to suit your senior classes. Â
Arrange a term of weekly coding lessons for some classes in your school, where pupils will earn the fundamentals of coding and computer science through fun and engaging step-by-step lessons each week.
We are based in County Louth and can travel to schools in Louth and neighbouring counties to run a coding, robotics or electronics workshop or event. Schools programmes can be tailored to suit your school, class size and timetables.

We have developed a school-focused suite of coding, electronics and robotics courses which can be tailored to suit your primary school.Â
We have a proven track record in delivering in-class based coding lessons and have been teaching coding to children in Co Louth primary schools since 2017.Â
School visits were stopped in 2020 due to the pandemic, but the learning didn’t stop there! The Code Lab was very fortunate to work with Louth County Libraries in 2021 to deliver pre-recorded coding lessons for local schools. Below are some of the schools we work with, and a little information on the tailored coding experiences they have received to date.
Since 2022, we are now offering a new suite of recorded coding lessons which are designed specifically for the classroom environment, and can be delivered at a time that suits your school calendar and timetable.Â

St Francis NS, Blackrock, Dundalk
The Code Lab has worked with St Francis NS in Blackrock since 2017 to deliver coding lessons to children from 2nd to 6th classes, as well as tailormade coding, electronics and robotics events in the school to celebrate Tech Week. The chldren in 4th class also received online coding lessons in 2021, thanks to Louth County Libraries. These were delivered using our new pre-recorded coding video lessons and were a great success.
Scoil Mhuire na nGael, Bay Estate, Dundalk
The Code Lab worked with Scoil Mhuire na nGael in 2017 and 2018, delivering Scratch and Microbit Lessons. We delivered a 6 week Scratch coding course for Beginners in 2017 to children in 4th, 5th and 6th classes, 10 classes in total. In 2018 Joan returned to deliver a 6 week Scratch Beginners course to 4th classes and a tailormade 6 week Coding & Electronics course for Improvers, to children in 5th and 6th classes. These course were scheduled to suit the school timetable.
Castletown Girls School, Dundalk
The Code Lab was delighted to work with Castletown Girls School in Dundalk to initially deliver an Introduction to Scratch Coding in early 2019 followed by a 6 week coding and electronics programme, tailormade to suit the schools facilities and class timetables. Joan is passionate about encouraging more young girls into coding and STEM subjects and was delighted for this opportunity to work with the wonderful girls in CGS, Dundalk. Remember girls, Keep Coding, you can do it!
