A few days on, and I’m still reflecting on the fact that I am Network Ireland Louth’s Networker of the Year 2026.
When I joined Network Ireland Louth, I was looking to connect with other businesswomen. What I found was so much more than that. I found a community.
As a solo business owner, the women of Network Louth have become my colleagues, my support network, and my cheerleaders. The friendships, support, advice, and opportunities that have come through this network have had a huge impact on both me and The Code Lab.
What makes this award particularly special is the judges’ feedback: “Very determined individual with a can-do attitude. Quintessential role model for STEM. Using her skills to share knowledge and educate others. Fantastic networker who has used these skills to grow within herself and to build the business.”
Some of what that’s looked like over the past year includes introducing new members to each other whenever I spot potential collaboration, running an informal “accountability buddy” arrangement with two fellow members to keep each other on track, and collaborating directly with Network Louth member Leanne on the DojoMór marketing project, where I project managed and Leanne led delivery. It’s also meant putting myself forward as a speaker and panelist wherever I could, so Network Louth’s name travels with me.
One moment stands out. At an International Women’s Day panel earlier this year, I spoke openly about the reality of running a business alone, the hard parts as much as the good ones. Two women came up to me afterwards and told me that hearing me speak so honestly was what convinced them to join. They signed up the very next day. That, to me, is what networking is actually for.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating the achievements of women in business across Louth.
I’m honoured to now represent Louth at the Network Ireland National Finals in Galway this September, and I’m looking forward to bringing that same spirit of community and connection to the national stage.
