Welcome to our Scratch Mini Games One course with your Instructor Joan McCann.
In this course, you will learn to create 5 mini games in Scratch, a child-friendly coding language designed especially for kids.
You will create a new mini game each week, building on game features from the previous week.
At the end of this course, you will know how to create different types of mini games with good and bad characters, backgrounds, movements, sounds and a score.
And best of all, you will do all of this under the guidance of Joan, your instructor for this course, who will guide you through every step, explaining what you need to do and also why you’re doing it!
Course Features
Access For 90 Days – You will have access to this course for 90 days from date of purchase
Cost Effective & Family Focussed – Pay €60 fee once for multiple siblings to code along with our lessons.
Play & Pause System – Our Play & Pause System allows children to watch, pause, code, take a break or return another day and resume the lesson.
Kids Code At Home – Our video lessons allow children to code along at home, so no need to drive them anywhere!
5 Week Course – This is a 5 week course, with one main lesson released each week from date of purchase. Each main lesson is approx. 45 minutes long, and will take between 1 hour and 1.5 hours to code along with. This can be split across multiple days, to suit your families needs, using our play and pause system.
Extra Lessons – This course contains 13 additional supplementary lessons for your child to learn tips and tricks in Scratch.

You will need access to the following technology to participate in this online coding courses:
- A Computer, Tablet or Smartphone to watch the course video’s on.
- A Laptop or Desktop computer to do their own coding. This course doesn't suit the use of a Tablet, due to the nature of the games being created.
- Headphones are recommended, as this course contains video lessons with audio.
- Internet Connection – you will need an internet connection so you child can watch the video lessons and code along in Scratch online.
- You will need to create an account on the Scratch website with a parent/guardians supervision, so you can safely code and save your mini games. Go to www.scratch.mit.edu/register to create an account, it only takes a few minutes and we have a lesson to guide you through the steps involved.
